  1. ENSURE Portal

    ➖Developed by the NABARD.

    ➖ENSURE Direct Transfer (DBT) will operate under the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries.

    ➖The objective is to make subsidy transfer process quicker & Faster.

  2. Bhutan has introduced a “Sustainable Development Fee” for regional tourists following a spike in Indian visitors that has sparked worries for the unique Himalayan kingdom’s cherished ecology.
  3. Collective farming
    ______
    ➖Model of Kolkhoz system was introduced in erstwhile Soviet Union to improve upon the inefficiency of the previous methods of agriculture and to boost agricultural production for self-sufficiency.

    ➖The farmers used to pool in all their resources like land, livestock and labour.

    ➖Farmers were allowed to retain very small plots to grow crops in order to meet their daily requirements.

  4. Truck Farming

    ➖Regions where farmers specialise in vegetables only.

    ➖The distance of truck farms from the market is governed by the distance that a truck can cover overnight, hence the name truck farming.

  5. United for Biodiversity’ coalition

    ➖Launched by European commission on World Wildlife Day
    (3 March).

    ➖Coalition includes zoos, aquariums, botanical gardens, national parks, and natural history and science museums from around the world.

  6. La Niña means the large-scale cooling of ocean surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean, together with changes in the tropical atmospheric circulation, namely winds, pressure and rainfall.

    ➖In India, La Niña means the country will receive more rainfall than normal, leading to floods.

  7. Malabar Exercise

    ➖Multilateral naval exercise that includes simulated war games and combat manoeuvres.

    ➖Started in 1992 between the Indian and US navies.

    ➖Japan joined in 2015.

    Note- The Malabar exercise this year is especially significant with the participation of Australia, thus covering all member of the Quad, an informal group of the four largest democracies in the Indo-Pacific region

  8. Himachal Pradesh has Asia’s largest pharma manufacturing hub, that is the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt, and the state produces around half of India’s total drug formulations.
  9. PM SVANidhi Scheme
    ___________
    ➖Funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, was launched, with an aim to provide credit for working capital to street vendors who have been affected due to the Covid-19 crisis.

    ➖Ensures a working capital loan up to Rs 10,000 for vendors, and rewards digital transactions.

    ➖All street vendors who have been in the business on or before March 24, 2020, are eligible to avail the benefits.

    ➖Use of strong and pure colours, heavy gold outlines, square shaped hands, enlarged eyes were the unique characteristics of this school.

    ➖Seen in Rajasthani and Mughal Paintings.
