Finance for Biodiversity (F4B):
▪️ An initiative to increase the materiality of biodiversity in financial decision-making, and so better align global finance with nature conservation and restoration.
▪️ The initiative is a dual-purpose platform, both with its own research and implementation capability, as well as a programme for regranting resources to others.
▪️ It is supported by the MAVA Foundation as well as CIFF and its work is guided by a leadership group of experts and practitioners in the field.
Biodiversity Finance Initiative (BIOFIN)
▪️ Initiated at the CBD COP 11, by UNDP and the European Commission, in response to the urgent global need to divert more finance from all possible sources towards global and national biodiversity goals.
▪️ Now present in 40 countries, BIOFIN is working with governments, civil-society, vulnerable communities, and the private sector to catalyse investments in nature.
