The International Food & Beverage Alliance brings together leading food and non-alcoholic beverage companies around a common goal of helping consumers around the world to achieve balanced diets and healthy lifestyles.
Formed in 2008 when CEOs of the world’s leading food and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturers voluntarily committed to support the World Health Organization’s 2004 Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health, our work is based on a set of actions recognized by the World Health Organization, governments and civil society as crucial to helping improve global health – product innovation, improved access to nutrition information, responsible marketing practices and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.
Our commitments are global and apply everywhere we operate. We are committed to continuous improvement and in 2014, building on our commitments to the World Health Organization in 2008, we enhanced our global commitments on health and wellness.
The International Food & Beverage Alliance is a non-commercial, non-profit-making organization whose purpose is to help consumers around the world achieve balanced diets and healthy, lifestyles in accordance with key areas identified in the WHO’s 2004 Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health on: product innovation, improved access to nutrition information, responsible marketing practices and the promotion of healthy lifestyles. IFBA’s work is carried out by the General Assembly and the Executive Committee.
