• Recently, a new species of fish has been discovered in Arunachal Pradesh.

About the Species

• This new species of fish has named as Schizothorax sikusirumensis, after the rivers – Siku and Sirum in East Siang district at the junction, from where it was found.
• The fish inhabits the water logged area of torrential river drainage.
